RTM - Remote Transmission Management was founded in 2003 as the need for HD encoding was emerging on a broad scale. As uplink trucks and fiber networks had the capacity and ability to transmit HD compressed signals, very few had invested the heavy capital expense in encoders, decoders and support gear. With considerable support
from Tandberg Television, RTM was founded and immediately was provided ESPN’s first HD live remote - Opening Day 2003 in Anaheim with a Sunday Night Baseball game. Over 4 years later and 1200 live events the company is still growing.
RTM’s staff has over 50 years of combined experience in the broadcast transmission, operations and production industries. Not to mention the decades of experience our trained freelance staff brings to our projects. Robert Dutcher, RTM’s president has over 15 years of broadcast & cable production, operation and management experience. As the prior Director of National Technical Operations for FOX Cable Networks, FOX Sports Net’s 20+ sports regional's and Director of Broadcast and Technical Operations for FOX Sports International, he has overseen numerous production, broadcast and transmission projects.
